As the fall seasons approach, the Jewish community annually celebrate an 8 day holiday called Sukkot, where they follow the biblical commandment to eat, drink, and lounge outdoors under a temporary hut-like structure. Avrohom Newhouse, a resident of Lakewood, New Jersey, was looking for a luxury solution that he and his family could use to upgrade their experience on Sukkot. Newhouse heard of Pergola Roof’s latest product offering which doubles as a valid Sukkah for the holiday that is in line with the religious requirements for the structure.
“The pergola was installed in time right before the Holiday. We love how it came out.”
— AVROHOM N.
The versatility of the retractable pergola allows for it to be used automatically during the week, and manually on the days where the Jewish community is not permitted to use any electronics. The combination of the convenience and accessibility these features provide, as well as the appeal were the exact features that Newhouse was looking for.
Pergola Roof’s retractable pergola features dimmable LED lights that are built into the roof, a motorized roof, as well as the ability to add a manual crank for those observing the Jewish holiday of Sukkot or the Sabbath.
Avrohom’s Sukkah now features a beautiful black pergola that perfectly complements the trim of his home. He included Pergola Roof’s retractable screens which function as the temporary wall coverings that a Sukkah requires
The pergola covers his entire patio space which he decorated with heaters, a full dining area and barbecue. Not only does Newhouse get to look forward to hosting multitudes of family and friends during the Sukkot holiday; he is also happily taking full advantage of his pergola all year round.
